Blossoming

One of my friends has a poster on the wall with the beautiful words, “Blossom where God has planted you”, and they always touch me in a very special and deep way. These words remind me of the many opportunities we have in our everyday lives to remember our Inner Life and to nurture it.

Many occasions provide the opportunity to complain about situations we regularly need to experience; for example, the places we live in, people we need to deal with, our jobs, etc … or any seeming lack we experience in various areas of life. Then we may blame other people for what are essentially our shortcomings and the problems they give rise to, as well as our sometimes-difficult circumstances.

It may be that something needs to change in our daily life on an outer level, or maybe we are presented with something in our situation to learn from on an Inner level. We may need to look at our attitudes, our wanting (and not-wanting) within ourselves.

Before we blame others or complain, we could ask ourselves, “Why has the Universal Life Force - The Da Qi - planted us here?” and what is it we might need to learn?

In Shuichuan practice, we can test our Attitude towards a problem. For example, wanting and not wanting arise in the mind and are essentially the same, and they can have a powerful blocking effect on our ability to flow and blossom.

Letting go of our attachment to what we want and becoming aware of our Attitude helps us to live a more harmonious, balanced and peaceful life. Letting go requires Awareness and can only be achieved on an Inner level and not with the Mind.

The ability to then Surrender to what is so that we can clearly see requires us to be truly humble, loving and compassionate as the Ego and Mind move out of the ‘driver’s seat’ to allow balance
